I loved the story "The Zen Of Cat". It reminded me very much of my first cat. I named her Rise-N-Shine because she always woke me up in the mornings. She had feline leukemia, but at my young age I didn't know what that meant. Several years later (8 years to be exact), she got sick and there was nothing the vet could do for her. He told me to take her home and take care of her and make her comfortable. She died in my arms two days after the vet visit, when I was 11 years old. Now, I am double that age-22, and I have my own apartment and I no longer live with my mom who helped me through the death of my cat. One of my roommates found some kittens on Foster Street here in my hometown and she brought them to our home in November. They are happy, healthy cats. When she brought them home, I noticed that Bristol looked A LOT like my old cat, Rise-N-Shine. Bristol is now almost nine months old. Rise-N-Shine would have been 15 years old this year. Bristol's actions and her expressions remind me of Rise-N-Shine everyday...and a little more each day as well. When we took Bris in to have her tested for Feline Leukemia, I awaited the worst, but she was negative. I wonder if somehow, Rise-N-Shine knew I needed a friend somewhere out there, and that's why I now have Bristol-11 years after Rise-N-Shine's death, it seems she's back again as a bouncy kitten. We have the other kitten-Bristol's sibling, Gaki and two more cats (Yuusha and Fitz) as well. But, I have to say, I favor Bris a bit-if for no other reason, than I think she may have been sent to me.

This is a great site full of inspiration. I just saved it to my favorites and I will return again and again to read about all the animals.

This is a great site. One of the nicest things anyone could ever do in life is help out an animal in need.
