Hello, I'm DozerUPDATE** 1/15/2003   Dozer now lives in foster care with Hope, Pink and Jasper all LHRRR rescues. He is a gentle giant and is doing very well. Dozer was neutered 1/13/03 and had his hip and knee re-xrayed. We are scheduled to take him to a specialist for his options. No matter what we are dedicated to getting Dozer the surgery he will need. Do you have the heart to help him rehab after that surgery takes place? He is a wonderful dog, gentle and mellow, good with dogs, cats and kids. Was an angel at the vet...where everyone loved him.

Dozer - once named Boots is a gentle giant. He is about 3 years old and will be neutered very soon. He is also up to date on his shots. Now named Dozer b/c he knocks over anything in his way. He walks great on a leash and likes the car. Dozer though large takes food and treats gently. He now lives in a foster home with a baby and loves him. He also likes cats and lives with other dogs. Dozer DOES HAVE HIS TAIL and NO it can not be cropped now. He is a gorgeous boy with a big head! He will need work on his house breaking as the shelter tends to cloud their memories!

- Update -
Dozer has been adopted by Tina Lockett and Barry Frank of Quakertown. Dozer now has a baby brother named Chipper pictured here and new feline friend named Jed. Dozer's new family will give him just the care he needs when it's time for his surgery. Best wishes to a long happy life together!

Hello, I'm Princess   Princess - is a lively little 5 month old rottweiler female. She was taken from her mom at two weeks and never had anything done with her, no shots, no training, nothing. She has now been in foster care for 3 weeks and knows basic obedience commands, is pretty much housebroken, loves dogs, cats and birds, and most importantly is up to date on her shots. She will need to be spayed in a month or so, but she is good to go otherwise. She does have her tail still, and NO, it may not be cropped now! It gives her major character with its' little curly cue on the end. She is very praise driven and loves to be told she was a good girl. She also loves to snuggle up in bed with anyone who lets her and sleeps straight thru the night. Please give this "little" one a chance to see what a forever home is like! She loves kids, older people and has been around an older person in a wheel home!

- Update -
Princess has been adopted by John Flood of Roxborough and his Chocolate Lab Marvin. Congratulations to all, we know you will have many years of playing happily at the doggy park together!

Hello, I'm Lucy Lu   Lucy Lu - was purchased at a local petstore, now out of business, her "owners" didn't know anything about Rottweilers and couldn't understand her personality and why it was so bad. She had been trucked in from Missouri, and as happens many times when people don't research the breed they are getting, she is in need of a new home!

- Update -
Lucy Lu was this volunteers first foster... well she stayed! Now almost 2 years later, My Sassy Sweet Lucy Lu, has her Canine Good Citizen, she is happy and still VERY sassy, living with 5 cats, a rottie brother Diesel, her German Shepherd sister Annie and sweet little Emma. Lucy will begin in obedience trials very soon.... we look forward to big things for Lu.

Hello, I'm Emma   Emma - Where do I start about Emma? Emma was rescued from the new shelter in the city where she came in as a stray. She was going to be put to sleep b/c she had an injured front right leg. So we went to meet her ... and she came home with us. Emma is now 15 wks old and is a rottie/shep mix. She weighs 25 lbs right now but will be a nice size when she is grown. After taking Emma to the vet and then a specailist we have learned that Emma's leg/elbow was fractured and has healed with no treatment, this is why she holds it up and doesn't put alot of pressure on it. (You can see it in the picture) The specialist said currently it has healed the best it could have and to operate would make it worse. The future of the leg is unknown, it may require surgery costing over $1,000, amputation or nothing at all! She may grow and never have discomfort. There is no way to know. Currently, she has no pain and runs around with her brother and sisters like nothing is wrong. She is so young she doesn't know any better. Emma is extremly smart and is doing well with housebreaking. She is also crate trained. Potential adopters must have amazing vet references and preferably another dog. Emma also enjoys playing with cats!

- Update -
Emma has been adopted by her foster family. What is one more right? This compassionate little girl has made incredible progress on her leg and is attending obedience school. We have high hopes of her becoming a certified Therapy Dog as she has this way about her that can't be explained! People flock to her for comfort and affection. Don't get us wrong.. she is still all pup! She now has 3 siblings, shown here in the picture....she will never be that lonely stray on the streets of Philly again! From your mom.... Thank you Emma for being my support through the most challenging time in my life. I am forever in debt to you... my Angel.

Hello, I'm Petra   Petra - beautiful Petra was turned into a local shelter because her owners had to many dogs and they had to get rid of 2. She drew the short straw! So skinny it was obvious she had been bred several times and her spay revealed just that. LHRRR volunteers intercepted Petra on her way to the E-room because she had lunged at the manager... didn't matter she was tied to a cage and scared. We quickly learned that she was fearful of men but an amazing dog...so we left with her. With no where to go we knocked on a good friends door. He adored our rottweilers, why shouldn't he have one of his own?

- Update -
She was adopted by Pete Burghart of Plymouth Meeting. After a few grueling days, okay weeks, Petra learned to trust... she know lives with 4 men and is spoiled by everyone of them. Not to mention all their friends. Congratulations to Petra and her men and thank you for putting in the time it takes to make Petra the dart chasing, love bug she is today! My best birthday present ever... love you both!
