Hello, I'm BenBen - he is approx. 2 year's old, weighs just over 100 pounds. The vet anticipates 20-30 more pounds. He is UTD and has been treated with frontline. He has been to the vet and is generally in good health. The eyelid of his right eye is over-sized and irritates his eye. My understanding is a simple procedure will correct this condition. The vet also checked his hips. He has good, sound muscle development around his hips and does not seem prone to hip-dsyplasia. He seems to like other animals (dogs and cats) without being overly friendly. He seems to like adults and children and does not show a preference for either gender. He is trained to sit, down, come and stay (most of the time). He walks well on a leash. I use a gentle leader with him I don't know if he is housetrained - he has never been left unattended inside the house (I have 2 dogs that do not like him, so I don't leave them alone together).

- Update -
Ben has been adopted by Maggie and Karl Castor of Hatboro. He now lives in the suburbs with his new rottie sister Reba. They enjoy long walks and warm baths! Congratulations on your new life Ben!

Hello, I'm SkinnySkinny (now known as Jacob) - this dog was found tied to a fence, 5 feet deep in shrubbery. He is 33 lbs. and he's an adult male rottweiler. The owner told the shelter 7 years old, but he doesn't look near that old, no gray and nice teeth. It looks like his normal size should be at least 90 lbs, so you can all imagine what a sight he is. The girls and guys at the PA SPCA are doing their best to save him, but the vet says put him down, he's a waste of space. I have until Monday to get back to them and let them know if anyone can take him. He still comes to the front of his cage to see them when they come is, so he hasn't given up. He is very weak, but managed to stand up and walk around yesterday and give me kisses as I patted his fur covered skeleton. He even tried to give paw, but stumbled a bit. He still has the will to live, and still wags is nub. This guy deserves a chance.

Hello, I'm KingKing - 2 ½ year old male. King is looking for a new home that has the room he needs to thrive. His current owner loves him but knows that being alone 14.5 hours a day is not fair to this very BIG, young man. Full of energy he needs a firm family with previous rottie experience. His grumbles of love may frighten the inexperienced Rottie friend.

- Update -
King was adopted by Dan, Sue and Brittany and is now living in Lansdowne. He has a his own pool and fenced yard. In a short time he has become the KING of the castle!

Candle1/2/2004 - Sadly Bear has cancer and we had to help him cross over today. He is a great dog. We lost Shanna to Bone cancer last June and Bear helped us get through that difficult time. This has been a rough year. Thanks for giving us such a special dog. We spoiled him rotten.
Thanks, Dave and Penny McDonagh

Hello, I'm Sasha and this is my sister BanditSasha - a 14 month old spayed female Rottie. 90 lbs. and full of life and energy. Too much energy for a rowhome in Philadelphia! Sasha does have special needs though ... at 14 months she has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia. She is not in pain now and with TLC and medication she will live a normal life.

- No Photo Yet -Dino - 7 yr. old male, homeless. Dino's story is a sad one. He lost his home to a fire. His owners were living in a townhouse until they could find a new house. Dino was being kept in a basement. Not being taken care of properly. So Marilyn (A local groomer) took him in temporarily and gave us a call to see if we could help place him. She told us he was such a sweetie, he just needed to be loved. She had no problem caring for him until we could find him a new home. Thank you, Marilyn.

- Update -
April 5, 2001 - Then along came Lisa and Mike from Parkside, PA who had lost their home to a fire also, but even worse had lost there Rottie and Pit bull too. He has since been living with them and they're 5 children and a pit bull puppy named Diamond. And all is going great. It was a match made in HEAVEN ... Hooray ...
