NEEDS HELP ASAP Please contact us if you can help!
Skippy is not a stray, he has an owner. He has lived with his owner since he was a young, healthy and energetic dog. Skippy is now a senior, he has poor vision, arthritis and his coat is in poor shape. Senior dogs are fragile, require special care and also require lots of TLC.
Skippy’s owner (who is also getting on in years) is now finding it difficult to give her dog the special one on one care he requires in his old age. Finances are also tight. The apt. they live in is on the second floor and Skippy can no longer climb the stairs without falling down and getting hurt. When he goes outdoors he needs to lay down to gain his strength to make it back inside to face the flight or stairs. Most of the time he can’t make it and won’t even try for fear or falling. Skippy has no choice but to spend his days and nights stuffed behind the door on the bottom landing of the stairs. He’s a big dog and requires much more space then he is given, he can’t even stretch his legs out or walk around. His owner can’t carry him up the stairs and must leave him there alone crying for companionship.
Skippy should not have to live his last years this way. With winter coming it will only make the arthritis worse especially if Skippy can’t make it back indoors and has to lay on the cold, damp ground for hours. His owner is concerned and has agreed to give him up if a good home becomes available to him. If you know someone that would take Skippy in or even offer him a foster home for now please let us know. Vet and personal references are required in addition to a foster application. A quiet, adult home will be best for Skippy. Please contact us if you'd like to adopt or foster Skippy :)
UPDATE: Through the kindness of our volunteer Helen, Skippy was seen by a vet. He will need to be put on antibiotics for 6 weeks due to an infection. Please, help Skippy so he doesn't have to go back and live in a small space at the bottom of his owners stairway. Though this is very difficult for her, she is willing to do what is best for her Skippy, please help us help them. |
Mickey - is a wonderful dog who deserves a home of his own. He is a huge lap dog. He loves attention, loves to play, loves to snuggle and just loves attention. Blackie - The owner was a young kid and he was going
to put the Blackie, a Pit-Lab mix into the street. He's only had Blackie for about 1 year. I rescued him, but I already have two dogs and 5 cats, so I can not keep him. I have Blackie here in my home but I desperatley
need to find him a home! He has been neutered and vaccinated and tested neg. for HW (heartworm). He is a very friendly and gentle dog and I would really like to find him a forever home. He is all black and weighs 50 lbs and has some scars on his face from fighting with the other dog but other then that he is in excellent shape! If you would like more information on Blackie please give us a call or Email Us. |
Smokey - I am a really nice guy, handsome to look at, mostly black with lively white trim on my fur. Loving Touch rescued me from an abusive person who enjoyed hitting me with a shovel, whew, they got me out of there in the nick of time. I never did anything wrong, I just wanted to play and give kisses and eat, and play some more and eat again and all I got was hit.
UPDATE - Smokey is doing very well these days. Smokey is still in boarding and has won the heart of a kennel worker. Smokey is getting lots of attention and has come a long way. He is learning how to play with a ball and learning basic commands. He is a very happy dog who is enjoying all the attention he is receiving. NOW all he needs is a caring person who will give him a home. Smokey is a sweet dog who deserves to be happy and loved. He is very energetic and loves to play, run and take long walks. With the special attention he is receiving he is getting over his food aggression problem. If you would like to know more about Smokey please email us. We would love to share his success with you. Please contact Loving Touch if you would like to meet me or just want to find out more about me. |
HOME FOR ROSCOE NEEDED ASAP (photo coming soon) - Owner is moving and cannot keep him. The relative that is fostering him at the moment fears that her landlord will see him and ask her to remove him (dogs are not allowed in her apt. building).
ROSCOE - is a senior Shepherd/Lab mix who has lived with his family since he was a puppy, he is now 12 years old. He is a medium size dog and weighs approximately 60 pounds. He is black with some blends of brown. He is in good health. Roscoe has not been neutered but we will be happy to assist
with that if a good home can be found for him. Roscoe has never been around other dogs but he is now in a temporary foster home with cats and all he seems to want to do is sniff them. He has shown no aggression at all so we feel that his gentle nature will allow him to be in a home with other pets. He is also very gentle with children. Please email us if your interested in helping Roscoe! |
AK - what a sweet boy!! AK was abandoned at a boarding facility by his owners. This sweet dog had a family and lots of kids to play with. He is loveable and gentle. Maybe his family just didn't have time for him? AK is now
neutered, up to date with shots and ready to find a new family to love. If your interested in AK, please email us! |
