UPDATE - 5/7/2004 - Val - what a handsome boy, sometimes we forget he is a dog. Val is sweet and funny and quite a charmer. He'd really love to have an home all his own! |
- Hello, I’m Valentino and I have such stories to tell. When I was very young they clipped my ears as they do for fighting pit bulls - - however, I wanted to be a lover not a fighter so when they saw I wouldn’t fight, they just threw me out into the street. I have to wear a halter when I’m walked because I have a very small trachea (What’s a trachea? I hope that has nothing to do with my manhood!). I love everyone but I am a bit clumsy and if you were a little kid I might knock you over when I jumped up to kiss your face, sometimes I just don’t know my own strength (of course others say it’s just my big head). I am a beautiful brindle color and actually quite cute. I have consistently been called a waggle-tail because I am so happy to be with people that I just can’t stop wagging with joy. Oh, two other things, because of my tiny trachea, sometimes I make funny sounds when walking (but I promise I wouldn’t tell anyone about any funny noise that you made), and finally, although I am ashamed to tell you, I cannot see a cat without going after it .. I know I shouldn’t and yet I just can’t help myself ... so although I am very much the lover, I shouldn’t be around cats. If you want a dog pal who will be your forever best friend, why not meet me and see how charming I can be, whaddya say? |
Bailey needs a home ASAP - Posted 9/23/2004Please help Bailey (dog #53), a terrific, friendly young Lab mix who has run out of time at the SPCA in
Georgetown, DE. Bailey was up for adoption for only two weeks and when no one was interested in him, they pulled him off the adoption floor, deciding he needed to go to rescue or be put to sleep. Poor Bailey was overlooked in favor of smaller dogs. People really missed adopting a wonderful fellow! This boy is pure sunshine. He is a happy, lovable fellow whose spirit is contagious. He is a gorgeous brown and brindle color. He was found as a stray on 8/26 and is thought to be about 2 years old. Bailey is heartworm negative and has had his basic shots, except for rabies. Doesn't anyone have room for this wonderful dog????
If you can help Bailey, please call Diane at (302) 684-1049 or email me at rain.tyler@mchsi.com |
ABBY is a BRONX AREA RESCUE
UPDATE - 5/7/2004 - Abby - this beautiful blonde girl is still looking for a home. She is a wondeful dog who is always being overlooked. Abby is a medium sized dog, she is very friendly and sweet. Please think about making Abby part of your family! |
Hi there, my name is Abby. I look like a blond shepherd, in other words, gorgeous, (and I’m a natural blond too)! I love going for walks and breathing in the nice fresh air and if I see a squirrel or a pigeon or another dog, I will bark my head off to make sure you have seen it too and are properly alerted. (I wouldn’t want to take the chance of a pigeon attacking you when you weren’t looking.) I would love your attention and in return I will be your most loyal girlfriend. Could we be friends forever? Email us if your interested in Abby. |
Hi! My name is Sparkie! I will be 4 years old the first week of June. I am an 85 lb. Shepherd/Rottweiller mix. I was rescued when I was just a puppy and have been living with my family ever since. I live in a home with my mom, dad and 3 kids ages 8, 14 and 17. I have had my shot but am not neutered YET! Although my family loves me very much they have to find a home for me ASAP due to a personal situation. If a home is not found for me I may have to be put down. If you or someone you know would like to adopt me please contact Loving Touch. You can submit an adoption application to get the interview started quicker. If you are interested please send inquires to this Email address. |
UPDATE - 5/7/2004 - Mia - still needs a home. Mia is a doll, sweet and affectionate but MUST be an only pet. If you are an experienced pitbull owner and have room in your home for just one dog please consider Mia. You will fall in love with her instantly. |
Mia - you may remember this sweet dog from seeing her on our adoption page one year ago. Mia (then known as Tiffany) was adopted by a very nice man who lived in Brooklyn. He lived alone and wanted a companion. Mia made his life complete and they bonded very quickly. It was a very good adoption for us. Unfortunately Mia's owner is now terminally ill and can no longer care for her. He was heartbroken when he called to tell us that he would have to return Mia to Loving Touch. Mia is now in our care and she is doing fine for the moment. It won't be long before she realizes that she will not be reunited with her owner. Mia is a friendly dog who cannot be with other dogs. She will make a great companion. If you can offer Mia a home please contact us for an interview. |
UPDATE - 5/7/2004 - Faith - still needs a home. She is sweet and playful but wants to be an only pet. If you can
only adopt one dog please consider this sweet girl. |
UPDATE - 4/15/2003 - is all grown up now. She is happy, playful, energetic and loves to snuggle. Faith loves to play and loves attention. She will do best in an adult home with she can be the only pet and receive lots of attention and love. In return she will be your faithful companion. If you are interested in Faith, please send inquires to this Email address. | Faith - we received a call asking for help with an emaciated puppy that had recently been rescued. The puppy had been trapped in a sewer in East New York. We were this puppies last hope. How could we say no to this sweet little girl. Faith is 8 months old, although she looks more like 3 or 4 months. She weighed only 14 pounds when she was found and she was just skin and bones. We picked Faith up on a Sunday, took her home and gave her a warm bath, then bundled her up in a big cozy blanket. She felt like a million dollars!
Faith is getting lots of TLC at our home until she is ready to be adopted. Faith is not anywhere near ready to be adopted and won't be for some time, but once she puts on some weight she will be a beautiful dog. |
"Hi. My name is Brandy, and I am a pretty, strong, 4 year old female pit bull (already spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all my shots). I was found when I was just a few months old when I hid under someone's car for warmth, and the family that found me has kept me ever since. They have been very good to me, and treated me extrememly well--allowing me to become a kind, gentle, loving dog. I love to give kisses and even hugs, and have never hurt any person or animal. Even though I know I am big, I still think I am a "lapdog," and just love to cuddle with my family. I have lived with a few other dogs, cats, and even a little boy my entire life, and treat them all wonderfully. Though if I am around other dogs, it might take me a few days to get used to them. It will be the first time in my life that I am in a new environment. Unfortunately, due to some family circumstances, my family can no longer keep me. The only person in the family that can has a very very low fence, and I am able to jump over it all the time. I love to go exploring on my own. Even though I always come back, they are always worried about me. I need to find a family that can keep me inside, or in a yard with a higher fence. I am housetrained, and very respectful of all belongings in the house. I am a good listener, and know most every command. I bark a little to let you know if I hear someone I don't know, but not too much. You may need to work with me on the leash, becuase I get a little excited to be on walks, but I am told I am a quick learner. Really, my favorite thing in the world is just to be petted and loved. I promise if you give me the chance, I can be a great pet!" If your interested in Brandy, please send inquires to this Email address. |
