Boomer - this happy go luck dog has finally found a wonderful family to love and appreciate him. Boomers lucky day came when we were walking him in a park in our area. We met a man and his son who were immediately attracted to Boomer. After a long discussion we found out that the family had intentions of adoption a dalmation. We walked Boomer over to meet the rest of the family and everyone fell in love with him. After a long interview we made arrangements for Boomer to spend the following weekend with the family. Everything went great and Boomer is now in his new home and the best part is that he lives right in our neighborhood!
ADOPTED | Beauty - has found a nice home in Queens with an elderly woman who's senior dog had recently died. Although the woman had a cat she also wanted the companionship of a dog. It seemed that Beauty would be a good match for her. Beauty is doing very well in her new home and is very grateful to her new owner. UPDATE LOST IN MASPETH QUEENS - Lost Wed. morning Oct. 18th, please help us find her and return her to her very worried and anxious owner. |
Felix - is a 8 week old beautiful blackish grey and white kitten. He was given to a young girl as a gift ... however, the family dog is not fond of the kitten and it seemed best to find him a new home.
ADOPTED He is now living in Brooklyn with a wonderful mom who is giving him lots of love and attention. Felix has full run of the apt and is finding every hiding spot possible. He has grown into a beautiful cat who is very sweet and loving.
UPDATE After having Felix for 2 weeks his new mom decided that he could use a companion. We decided that a young female would be a good choice and by the end of that week little Lisa (From the New Arrival Litter of 5) joined Felix in their new home. The two sniffed each other and chased each other all night long. Here is a photo of Felix and Lisa (checking out her new home and toys), she will be renamed soon. |
Orea and Cookie - 2 beautiful, sweet calico sisters are in need of a permanent or foster home. These girls are between 1-2 years old and were rescued from vicious dogs at only a few weeks old. Their owner unfortunately must give them up due to personal reasons. These cats have never been separated and would like to remain together. FOSTER OR PERMANENT HOME IS NEEDED A.S.A.P.
Update Cookie developed a very serious uninary tract infection several weeks ago. She was taken to the vet and treated twice. Unfortunately the treatment was not successful and we lost Cookie shortly after.
ADOPTED Orea was recently adopted to a very nice girl in Queens. She recently lost her oldest cat (late teens) too. She was looking for a companion for her "female calico" and when she heard Oreo's story she wanted to help her by giving her a home and new sister.

URGENT! CAN YOU HELP SAVE AT LEAST ONE OF THESE 3 CATS! BUD (AGE 6) Black and White male, PUMPKIN (age 5) Red and White male, MAX (age 4) Gray tabby male These 3 cats are exceptionally friendly and loving. They are friendly to people and LOVE children. They need to find a permanent or foster home by Thursday NOV. 9TH. Bud, Pumpkin and Max are in desperate need of a new loving home. Although they are not a problem at all there is a family emergency that requires their owner to place them into new homes ASAP. A very young family member has become ill with leukemia. Because this weakens the immune system any kind of scratch that could cause an infection could be very dangerous and/or deadly to this little boy. Because of this situation the owner feels it is best to remove the cats ASAP.
All ADOPTED Pumpkim will be moving in with his owner's good friend Mary along with her 2 female cats. Bud and Max will be together and join a family member of Mary's. | Our sweet little "Sugar Bear" has grown into a beautiful puppy and has been renamed Butch! Butch loves his new family and his canine companion Snickers. He is getting plenty of exercise and lots of attention in his new home. Thanks to all the wonderful people who took part in keeping this puppy alive! He would have never survived if it were not for the special care he received from the moment he was born! (You can read Butch's story in our newsletter by join our mailing list).

Mama - is out most recent rescue. A young man saved her from being hit by a tractor trailer in Long Island City. It was very obvious that Mama was nursing a litter of puppies, however, they were no where to be found. A few Con Ed workers said that she had been in the area for a few days and they remembered seeing her carrying something in her mouth. We immediately met the young man and Mama and continued the search for her puppies, the puppies could not be found. This sweet dog is very unhappy and cries for her babies. We are hoping that with some TLC she will get through her loss and enjoy a brand new lifestyle with a family who will love her and keep her safe. By the way Mama is great with dogs and cats!
ADOPTED Mama, who is now named Mocha, is doing very well in her new Manhattan home. She fit right in from the start and has been a great addition to the family. | Bailey - is a Border Collie mix. He is well trained, not a chewer, housebroken, friendly yet a good watch dog. Baily likes to play ball and loves to be brushed. He loves the park. His owner must give him up due to a very allergic relative that will be living with the family. Bailey is very good with childrem too.
ADOPTED We are happy to have been able to help Bailey find a loving home through Border Collie Rescue. |
Henry - a senior Norweign Elkhound mix, about 7 years old. Henry is a very sweet and gentle dog. He is small to medium in size. He gets along well with other dogs. Henry was rescued in February after a young boy tied him to a fence and ran away. He has been boarding ever since.
Our sweet Henry had been adopted and has now been returned. Unfortunately Henry's new home did not work out due to the family pets not accepting him. Henry is now back in our care and once again in need of a home. He is a wonderful senior dog who loves everyone. You can't help but fall in love with Henry!
ADOPTED | Manny - I was found tied to a fence in a park in Queens. I was taken in and have been with Loving Touch since. I am a real sweetie. Not only am I adorable, I am loveable, playful, and just a pleasure to be with. I'm not sure how old I am but I know I am a young adult who still acts like a puppy. My favorite day of the week is Saturday when I get to spend time in the park with the dog walkers. They all love being with me. I would be a great addition to a family with older kids.

China - was turned in to a kill shelter by her owner. She had recently had puppies and the owner did not need her anymore. Coincidentally a litter of puppies had just been brought in to the shelter
without a mother. China nursed the puppies and they were all adopted. China was then scheduled to be euthanized. After being contacted by a shelter worker and hearing the sad story China was taken into our group. After many months China was adopted and now lives in Manhattan with a very caring couple. She is a very happy dog.

Cinder - the parking attendants called him Dualliare! He is a black, extremely friendly cat who was dumped in the 24 hour Flushing Parking garage. He would walk up to everyone and just wanted to be pet. He would roll around on the floor to get attention. The attendants were afraid he would be run over and asked us to take him in and find him a home. We were very willing to help this cat and although he was super friendly he was afraid to be picked up or put into a carrier. We tried night after night to gain his trust but he was too frightened. Luckily a fellow rescuer, Barbara, was able to gain his trust and catch him. She knew of the perfect home for him too. Dualliare was immediately taken to the vets for a check up, testing, neutering and a very serious bubble bath!!! Dualliare was then adopted. His new name is Cinder. Thanks to his new dad, Bill, he is now sleeping in a warm bed and not on a parking garage floor. Bill and Cinder are just crazy about each other and we are so happy that this cat could be helped.
