Daisy - was rescued from Long Island City. She was a stray, she was scared and took shelter between two garages. We were asked to help this poor dog and we did. It took some time to secure her and lift her from between the garages. She was very nervous but trusted us enough to come with us. We were lucky to find a foster home with a fellow rescuer who took a real liking to Daisy and helped her come around. He helped to find her a wonderful home in New Jersey. The couple that adopted Daisy already had an American Eskimo and were looking for a companion for her. The girls hit it off and Daisy soon became part of the family.

GREAT NEWS!!!! Mandy and Pumpkin have been adopted TOGETHER! We are so happy to tell you the good news. Mandy and Pumpkin touched the hearts of many animal lovers when they appeared on LIVE with Regis and Kelly this past July, 2003. Although we received many wonderful out of state offers to give the girls a home we felt that due to their situation and age we needed to keep them close by so we can be there for them in the years to come. The girls were lucky enough to be in a foster home for over a month until their foster parents were married and off on their honeymoon. They were lucky again to go into another foster home which turned out to be their new
home. Mandy and Pumpkin are now living in East Northport on Long Island. They have very loving parents and other dogs and cats around for company. The best part is that we can visit whenever we want.

Jocko - (now named Riley) was just about 6 months old when his owner threw him out! We received a call for help from a kind woman who saw Jocko sitting all alone in the hallway of her apt. building. Jocko has been adopted and is now living in Jackson Heights. His new mom (who recently became a widow) is very grateful for his company. Jocko is very happy and loved. He enjoys following his new mom around the apt.
and watches everything she does.

Nitro (formely Princess) - was rescued in September 2003 from Long Island City. She was just a puppy and she had been abandoned by her new owner. Nitro was lucky to have been picked up by rescuer. She was taken into our group and boarded until a wonderful home came along for her. Nitro won the hearts of a Long Island family when they met her at the Long Island Family Pet Expo in November. She now has a real family to love. She especially loves playing with the kids and they are just crazy about her.

Ramsey - was rescued in October of 2003 from the back of a church in Brooklyn. His rescuer fed several cats behind the church but Ramsey was the only one brave enough to stay around and be pet and cuddled. When his rescuer saw that this was becoming a dangerous situation for Ramsey he asked us to please remove him before he was hurt. Ramsey was taken off the street ASAP. Ramsey was adopted in November and now lives in Hauppauge, Long Island with his new family and feline friends. When his new mom met him at the Long Island Family Pet Expo she knew he was meant for her. It seems that Ramsey is identical to a cat the family had recently lost and was grieving over. Ramsey is very happy in his new home and his new owners love him very much.

Tabitha - was just a tiny kitten when she was found with a crushed back leg. She was in a lot of pain and the vet felt that the leg might have to be amputated, especially if infection set in. Tabitha remained at the Vet's office for several weeks and received special care. Lucily she did not get an
infection and her leg healed up nicely. She was then taken to a foster home and given lots of TLC. Her foster mom just couldn't give her up and decided to make her part of the family. Tabitha now lives in Queens.

Parker - this beautiful dog was found tied to a park bench this past September. He was hot, tired and extremely nervous. A kind volunteer rescued him. Our funds were low and did not allow us to take another dog into boarding. We did not want to turn this needy dog away but didn't know where to put him. Luckily a foster home became available. Parker was a mess, he would urinate if you came near him, he was shy and had no confidence. He needed special care and understanding. Parker also appeared to be very sick. After several visits to the vet's office we were informed that Parker is in good health but did suffer abuse and was very malnourished.
TODAY Parker is doing so much better. He loves his foster family and loves having other canines around to play with. Parker is a handsome, sweet dog who needs a special person in his life. Anyone interested in adopting Parker must understand what he has been through and must be willing to make the adoption process a slow and smooth one, for Parker's sake.

A sad kitten from Corona. This poor baby is so scared and lonely. We're not even sure of it's sex but we know that it will need a very special and caring owner who will take the time to work with it. This kitten was chased by dogs for 2 days before it could be caught. When we took it in it was so traumatized and full of fleas. It took 3 baths to remove all the fleas and blood from it's tiny, skinny body. We are working with this baby and trying out best to get it to trust people. It is lonely for companionship and cries to be with other cats.
